Six months in and this all started with a candle…. or actually, ten different candles to be exact.
Ten scents, a website, and a small hype team of people telling us to go for it. So we went for it, having no idea if we’d sell five candles or five hundred candles. As we made inventory in preparation for launch day, I jokingly told Luis, “Well if this doesn’t work out we can give everyone we know a candle for Christmas.” I’m really happy to share that we sold more than five candles. We actually sold closer to five thousand candles.
Our dream behind Milkglass was to help other adoptive families and we can say - we are living that dream, through every single one of your purchases. The dream keeps growing and expanding and we are excited to run after all that is ahead of us. We can’t wait to show you what is to come in 2021 as we continue to launch new products and partner with new families.
But today, we are excited to introduce At Home by Milkglass which is our first little step outside of candles. We are starting with the same great smells, just now in hand wash and room sprays. We will be offering both items in each of our four new spring scents: blush + bashful, citrus + champagne, gardenia + vetiver, and woven + spun. With each new product comes the desire to remain consistent with our standard of being clean and safe for everyone in the family. As always, the fragrances we use in all of our items are phthalate-free and free of carcinogens, mutagens, reproductive toxins, organ toxins, and acute toxins (many of which are found in other candles and scented products). Our hand wash is created with a natural soap base made with olive oil, which leaves hands feeling moisturized after every wash.
When choosing our packaging we decided to go with plastic amber bottles, knowing that little hands are always reaching for and dropping things and we want to be safe for even the littlest members of your family. We also wanted to create a look that adds to your guest bathroom or kitchen counter. We look forward to seeing these products in YOUR HOME as we continue to help hopeful adoptive families bring ONE MORE CHILD HOME. We also can’t wait for you to see what is to come this year as God continues to grow this dream into a reality.
